Matthew turns 3

This little guy is one bundle of......well he is one complete bundle that is for sure!  He has finished the play group program he was in (turning 3 automatically graduates you from the program) and will now be attending a preschool at a local elementary school.  The assessments he endured (almost three hours worth BTW) identified him with a speech delay; his receptive language is right where it should be, but his expressive language is only at the 6th percentile.  Nothing we didn't already know, but the assessment was required to receive service from the school district as he is now too old for early intervention.  I am thankful for programs that will allow him to have an outlet and will give us strategies on how to communicate.  He has made progress and we are better able to understand him, though at times it feels for every step forward we take four leaps back.

He loves to play and tell stories, sometimes a little too forcefully. He went on a streak there where he loved Super Why (nice break from Mickey Mouse) and now he seems to be a well rounded boy in terms of selection when he gets his little TV time (mainly when Mom is grading....which sometimes feels like all the time).

He loves having guests at our house and when the doorbell rang with cousins at the door especially for him and his party, he grabbed each one and gave them a tight squeeze, then ran around the house yelling.  We were equally excited to celebrate, and maybe we should have ran around with him....

Also in the month of November, I celebrated my kids (more of that gratitude journey) and created art for their playroom.  I absolutely loved this project, the kids were bribed excited to pose and the total project cost a whopping $10!

LOVE the play room and Matthew cannot be three. Impossible. But its impossible that I'm 32 yet I am in fact 32 so he must be three.... He makes one cute 3 year old!!! I wish they could say the same for me.
