I like to dabble in crafts when I should be doing laundry or housework now and then, and this month I am very pleased with the few projects I have completed.
I have had these stocking for years now and I have to remind my kids each year which one is theirs. I had wanted to get them embroidered a long time ago, but could not see past the trees on Matthew's stocking to place his name. Sarah pointed out during her last visit how obvious it was on where his name should go. So that problem was solved, the next came with finding someone to embroider that could get them done NOW (I am not impatient, it's just things should be done when I want them....) Luckily, I found the perfect solution, iron-on embroidered letters. Can you say, GENIUS! I love this idea even more so because it cost around $5 total.
My next project was to complete a memory tree that I have been playing around with. I printed pictures from every Christmas Terry and I have had together, with a few from our individual childhoods. I am going to love putting this tree up every year, looking through all the photos was such a blast! This project of course went through three different phases, and there may be one more, but only if I can score a free tree......Don't judge me Sarah!
This was a project I did last year, creating this nativity out of wood, but it is too cute not to share :)
I am so excited for Christmas this year, we have our house all decked out and a few activities to do that we have never done with our kids before. Enjoy the month and don't waste a minute celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - with all the festivities and activities to do, it is easy to forget the reason we celebrate, but don't let that happen!
